BEFORE YOU SIGN A BIG ELECTRICAL CONTRACT

GOT A $5,000+ ELECTRICAL PROPOSAL? DON’T SIGN IT YET.

Before you hand a big electrical company thousands of dollars, put more than four decades of independent electrical experience between you and the sales pitch.

A BIG LOGO DOESN’T MEAN YOU’RE GETTING THE TRUTH.

Some large home-service companies have turned the service call into a high-pressure sales appointment. Technical jargon, frightening warnings and polished presentations can make an expensive proposal feel impossible to question.

Charlie has seen too many homeowners—especially older homeowners—pressured into signing contracts for work they didn’t fully understand and may not have needed. He hates it.

If someone says your home needs $5,000, $10,000 or $20,000 in electrical work, you deserve a straight answer before you sign.

“YOUR HOME’S ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SHOULD BE INSPECTED BY AN ELECTRICIAN—NOT SOLD BY A SALES MACHINE.”

CHARLIE’S FOUR-DECADE ELECTRICAL REALITY CHECK

This isn’t another free estimate disguised as a sales pitch. Charlie will review the existing proposal, examine the electrical issue and explain—in plain English—what he believes is necessary, what can wait and what deserves more explanation.

01

DOES IT REALLY NEED TO BE DONE?

Charlie will determine whether the recommended work is necessary for safety, reliability, insurance compliance or code requirements.

02

IS IT THE RIGHT SOLUTION?

There may be a safer, simpler or more sensible way to solve the problem.

03

IS ANYTHING IMPORTANT MISSING?

A lower proposal isn’t necessarily better if it leaves the real problem unresolved.

04

ARE YOU BEING SOLD MORE THAN YOU NEED?

Charlie will separate legitimate electrical needs from optional upgrades and sales-driven recommendations.

IF THE OTHER PROPOSAL IS RIGHT, CHARLIE WILL TELL YOU.

If Charlie believes the original contractor’s recommendation is appropriate and the proposal makes sense, he’ll say so.

If he sees unnecessary work, an incomplete solution or a better approach, he’ll explain why. If you want, Puget Sound Electric can then provide an alternative proposal.

NO SCARE TACTICS. NO HIGH-PRESSURE PITCH. NO OBLIGATION.

BRING CHARLIE YOUR PROPOSAL IF IT INVOLVES:

This is intended for legitimate major projects—not individual outlets, switches or small repair jobs.
